Bukhara is a city that blends tradition and history with modern buildings and development. It feels like walking through history. During the day, a quaint, quiet place where everyone goes on with their daily life, but by night, a full-on party place! Bukhara has many incredible restaurants and eateries, packed with music and fine dining. Here are my top three recommended restaurants which you MUST visit to experience the whole of Bukhara and its culture.
Zaytoon: - Zaytoon by far has the best ambience, the best food, and the best service that Bukhara can offer. With its mouth-watering dips and breads, well-presented mocktails, its vegan options as well as its pan-Asian options, Zaytoon is an all-rounder. I would recommend Zaytoon's Chicken Shashlik which melts in your mouth, its dynamite shrimps which feel like firecrackers in your mouth, the Asian chicken with its variety of flavours and spices, the dips platter and the Zaatare breads with their middle eastern feeling, the chocolate ice cream with its cool feeling which immediately refreshes your body from the Bukhara heat, and the matcha fondant with its unique and extraordinary taste.
Joy Chaikhana Lounge: - Joy offers live music, a variety of food options especially for meat lovers, as well as some distinct vegan options. Personally, I enjoyed the Chicken Shashlik, the chicken wings, the shish kebabs, and the juices. Joy also hires live musicians who play songs which blend traditional music with a modern touch. Perfect for a live party night, Joy is to be visited with friends and family to provide a more happening experience.
Afsona Bukhara: - Afsona Bukhara was also popular choice among many tourists, so we decided to go and eat there. It lived up to its expectations. Afsona Bukhara offers traditional Uzbeki food. From beef pilaf to manty, Afsona Bukhara offers a wide range of options for all.
